You may be considering coming to CLM for the first time soon. If so, please be assured, you will not be the only person visiting (we have new people every week) and you will be extremely welcome.
Some commonly asked questions:
What time are the services?
9.15am and 11.30am - with a Sunday Evening Service once a month (see homepage)
Is there parking?
Yes. If it is your very first time, there will be space for you in our church car park. General parking is in the Techno Centre Car Park opposite the church. Usually we will have car park stewards in yellow jackets directing you into a space as you come near to the church building.
What can I expect from the service?
Services can vary, but typically there will be an initial time of praise and worship followed by an offering and a few announcements and then a sermon (see podcasts section to sample the preaching).
Sometimes there may be communion, or baptisms, or baby dedications, or an interview as part of the service. We try to explain clearly what’s going on, especially for people who are new to a church environment.
What about children’s work?
On most Sundays the children begin in the service for the worship time and then leave after about 30minutes – as clearly directed by the meeting leader – for their specially designed children’s church, which lasts for about an hour. We have a crèche for under 2’s (currently parents are expected to stay with their little ones), Little Treasures for 2-4 year olds and Treasure Kids for School Reception to Year 6. The programmes are tailored to be age appropriate, with engaging activities and some teaching from the Bible. Parents drop their children off at Little Treasures and Treasure Kids and collect at the end of the service.
Do I have to be a Christian?
No. Many people come to CLM to explore faith and they are extremely welcome.
Is there a Dress Code?
Absolutely not! Wear what you like. Some people will be super smart and some super casual. Come as you are most comfortable.
Can I get a drink?
Of course! We serve free refreshments after all our services and our café bar – Café Life – is open if you want to buy a hot chocolate, milkshake, or speciality coffee.
Should I let someone know I’m coming?
There is no need. But if you want to, or have any specific questions, you can email us ahead of your visit by clicking here.
Is there anything else I need to know?
After our morning services we ask any first time visitors to call in at our special ‘welcome area’ at the back of the main auditorium, so we can meet you personally and serve you a drink and biscuit. If you want to stay ‘anonymous’, that’s fine, but we would be delighted to meet you there.
